2016 Annie Awards Winners

The Chasing Hope Foundation today recognized four local professionals who represent the highest standard in Illinois special education. The 2016 Annie Awards were presented at the Winnetka-Northfield Library’s Winnetka Branch.


2016 Classroom Professional Award:

Crystal Meeks, Parkland Middle School, McHenry

Meeks was nominated for her passionate dedication to the students and faculty she serves.

2016 Support Champion Award (co-recipients):

Katie Trier, Westmoor Elementary School, Northbrook

Diana Alcala, Warren Township High School, Gurnee.

Both Ms. Trier and Ms. Alcala were nominated by parents who identified their unwavering commitment to the needs of the children in their care.

2016 Administrative Leadership Award:

Kayla Wilke Round Lake High School, Round Lake.

Kayla is noted for her energetic approach to teaching and her tireless efforts on behalf of those students for whom she advocates.

Each recipient received an Elsa Peretti-designed, cobalt blue crystal heart from Tiffany & Co., representing the essence of the contribution made to their students and families.
